The day before the end!
I started this but was interrupted by an offer of free wine! What can I say😌. The fellow, can’t remember his name, is from Belgium and is on his 2nd Camino. He is a train driver and explained to us one of the problems in Europe with the trains. Apparently some countries’ rail systems run different gage tracks than others. Wow, who would have thought?
In any event, going back to this morning, I left in a light rain at 8:04 am and the first thing I saw was this rather notable car.
Not sure what it is but I bet Roger Pynappel does.
It was raining rough for me to have to wear my poncho so I did. I know I look stupid but it works!
I walked by myself pretty much all of the day through some beautiful country.
And I visited this church which is Our Lady of something. I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be sacrilegious but I just didn’t get what the guy said
I shared my lunch with this delightful kitty. She got cheese and Turkey!
And wondered how any country that designed this awesome bridge
Could possibly let this situation exist
Oh well. We arrived at our wonderful Albergue at about 2 after a tortuous climb, and got our bunks. All lowers, lucky us.
Following my shower, I proceeded to get involved in a washing machine mess. The bottom line here is that someone’s clothes were trapped in a washing machine with a door that would not open. I tried to help by googling instruction manuals but alas, they are all in Spanish. In the end, the door had to be removed from the inside. Don’t ask me how but it involved unscrewing the door from the inside of the machine. The repairman is coming tomorrow. So much for modern technology. Maybe it would be good to go back to the old fashioned washing board method.
One thing, I cannot close without shaming the ladies, and they must be us, who do this on the trail
Look girls. Pack it in, pack it out. Nobody wants to look at this.
Tomorrow we hit the square in front of the Cathedral of Santiago!

Love the pictures and commentary
