A bit of a climb!
Dave, Kate and I are traveling alone now. The other ladies have gone on ahead. They have deadlines to meet.
Today was somewhat challenging in that even though we only traveled about 16 k, most of it was uphill and some VERY uphill. We made it though. Here is a picture of Kate at the shrine of “we made it to the top.”
Apparently this is one of the most difficult stages of the Portuguese central camino. I’ll have to let you know later if that is true.
Before the steepest part we saw these beautiful views.
Tonight we are staying at a private Albergue which is a sorely charming. The hospitalera was even so gracious as to call a restaurant to transport us to a fine dinner with wine for only €13. There we ran into the same bunch of fellows (Portuguese and English) that we have been seeing all day. Maybe we will see them tomorrow and they will give us a photo op.
All in all it was a good day. We were blessed to have an overcast sky with a bit of drizzle so that the uphill climb was a bit more bearable.
On to the next place tomorrow. We are planning a late start as we only have about 15 k to cover.
Nitey nite.

Fabulous!!
